Meet Caitlin Gannon, Ph.D. (she/her)

You’re already braver than you think you are.

Anxiety may always be a part of your life, but it should not overtake your day-to-day. Learning to live despite of anxiety means accepting that the only way out is through.

Feel controlled by fear, worry or obsessive thoughts? You’re in the right place.

Dr. Gannon has a true passion for helping people find hope and feel relief. She strives to change the lives of individuals and families who have been suffering with unrelenting anxiety, disturbing and terrifying thoughts, uncontrollable worry, exhausting behaviors and rituals, and avoidance that keeps them from living their best lives.

Treatment Approach

Dr. Gannon primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach to therapy, but is dedicated to integrating components of other evidence-based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) flexibly into my work for all her clients. The approaches she uses aim to empower individuals to increase their awareness and control over their thoughts and behaviors that contribute to their challenges.

The anxiety and behavior of children and adolescents often affects the entire family, working closely with caregivers and families is a crucial part of success. Within her work she also values consultation and collaboration with schools, physicians, psychiatrists and other treatment providers. The goal is to partner with you and your family to establish an individualized, evidenced-based treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

Guiding principles

Evidence-based practices

Therapeutic approaches that have been proven through clinical research to decrease symptoms and improve quality of life. These practices involve using the most up-to-date interventions to inform each stage of treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Founded on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion) and how we act (behavior) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Research has consistently shown CBT to be the most effective treatment for OCD and related anxiety based disorders.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT believes that people can live fulfilling lives regardless of symptoms, by emphasizing mindfulness skills to take action that is based on your own values and in ways that will ultimately enrich your life.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

Form of CBT that includes exposing yourself to feared thoughts, images, situations or objects while preventing avoidance behaviors to increase habituation, thus reducing overall anxiety.
